Link building - the key to success
For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, link building is simply the process of increasing the number of links from other websites to yours. It’s a really simple concept, yet link building is so important and so often ignored in online marketing.
The reason for link building is primarily to do with search engine optimization. Search engines like Google and Yahoo will take each link from another website to yours, as something like a ‘vote’ that your website is of high quality - otherwise why would they link to it right? This in turn will improve your search engine ranking, which will make a phenomenal difference in the amount of traffic your site will receive.
The other reason for link building is simply to get your site 'out there'. Much of the visitor traffic online goes via search engines, but a lot of it doesn’t too, so if there are loads of links to your website floating around cyberspace, chances are people will click on them and end up at your website.
Why Is Link Building Super Important?
The main reason is that it is the primary way you can increase your ‘off-page optimization’ for search engine marketing. What all that tech-talk means is that once you’ve created a good site, that is search engine friendly, the main activity that will make a big difference is link building.
So the moral of the story, is get a good site built, and then get to work link building - because it will make a phenomenal difference to your results.
Search engines still have the lions share of online traffic, so be sure to capitalize on that!
